Hong Kong, Day 2 - May 7, 2010 Friday

The queue at 10am. Queuing for bao, siu mai, hakaw etc.
Forgot exactly where this was, I just remember it's near Ladies' Market, but it was recommended by my friend's friend. It opens at 10am, but you must be there earlier since there's always a long queue. Why? because the place can only house about 20 customers per time, and their food is supposed to be prepared by a chef who came from Four Seasons Hotel.

You will be given a queue number, and waiting (aside from the queuing) for your turn may take up to 1 hour.
The bao. Crunchy/crispy crust with sweet meat filling (their bestseller)

We ordered two baskets, but asked for a doggy bag for the 3 baos because we were too full from our orders (we ate it at night).

Rice roll - shrimp and liver. Very nice.

Mmmm.. at first bite, there's nothing extraordinary. But the flavour grows on you. I should know, I ate a lot of them!

We didn't order this. It was our 'neighbours' order.

Glutinous rice. Nothing spectacular, although the auntie beside us said it was very tasty. (She was staring at it for so long so we asked if she would like to try. She said 'Yes!' with a nod!)

Carrot cake .. this is nice.

There's vegetables and meat inside, with weird spices. Didn't really appreciate this.

Coconut dessert with truffle, with osmanthus jelly dessert (generously donated by the auntie beside us.)
The creamy dessert was too creamy, and its taste was overpowering. But.. like the siu mai, the taste eventually grows on you.
Breakfast: About HKD292 (not sure).
Got there before 10am, finished by around 1130+
Took this picture because we planned to go back to the Mahjong shop, but we just couldn't find it!

Happy Lemon at Newton Mall (or something). This is near Argyle Center.

Left: Drink with yogurt. Right: Milk Tea. I ordered the milk tea.

We ate congee at around 4 or 5pm. The congee was okay, I guess you just won't be able to appreciate it much when you're travelling because you're supposed to be on the go, and eating congee just takes too much time that you just end up gulping and trying to finish quickly.

Century egg and pork. I love century egg!

Curry fish ball from Hui Lu Shan. We were thirsty and our feet were aching, so we stopped by the famous dessert shop to rest. Ordered the set meal which included the curry and drink. This was about 6 or 7pm.

Mmmmm...

Roti for the curry
We stopped for some refreshing jelly..Would've been nice if they were really cold.

This was at Allied Plaza. I bought a pack of grilled cuttlefish, which the store owner warmed up in the oven. Nice, but leaves your breath smelling really fishy.

I had to buy one of those bags to put all my things.
Day 2 purchases.

Bought pens again, tshirts, knitted dress, lace camisole
