A Photoshoot for Chupa Chups!

I missed Chupa Chups! Yesterday, while I was in Fair Price grocery, I saw various packs (sorbet filled, double-flavoured, original creamy). I bought the creamy pack, to help me thru my dieting.
Instead of looking for more food to eat, I'd eat a stick of this instead. Yes, it's sugar loaded (which I can burn), but zero fat. So, fair enough.

In Hopes of Having Clear and Rosy Skin

Actually, only a few buds are needed.. but what the heck, more buds might mean more chances of me getting clear skin

I'm trying to drink rose tea on a regular basis. This week, that 'regular' being twice. Once on Monday, and again today. Hyuk hyuk. Well, I'd try to drink it everyday starting next week (which is tomorrow).

One of my colleagues drink this everyday (but it's a mixture of rose tea and other things), and her is skin is clear and rosy. Must be her genes, but it's still worth a try.

Shuang Yuan

My shopping. Hee. The black skort (skirt shorts) from iora and a simple gray v neck shirt from F21.

Spring roll . If you like to eat salad as starters, then order this. Because it's just lettuce with a think slice of pork, rolled in a thin rice roll and drizzled with chili sauce. If not, then I recommend you to skip this.

Lu Rou rice. I love this. White rice with stewed tender pork with stewed egg (notice the yolk is still moist) and some garnishing. What makes this ordinary dish extraordinary is its ability to transport you back to your own dining table when you were 12, eating your mum's cooking. It's not the taste, but the feel of it.

Ice jelly drink. Quite interesting because the taste is subtle with a hint of sour plum. A bit annoying at times though, because the jelly sometimes gets stuck in the straw.
My total bill was about SGD16. Yea, I ate them all myself.

This is at 1 Liang Seah street. I actually just learned about it from insing.com on Friday night and suddenly felt the rush of excitement to look for it. On Saturday afternoon, with the map given on the site, I just kept walking and walking until I turned on a bend and saw the restaurant. Cool exprience. I love it.

Gigantic Pear

It's big! and sweet! and juicy! even the core isn't sour.

More than what the bowl could handle

Foodsss

Wonton and pork noodles at Canton-I, ION
Chili crab at Crystal Jade.. Mmm I'm sticking with No Signboard, Mellben's and Jumbo. The crab here was too mushy

Pile of finger food - Somewhere in Holland Village (beside Indochine).
Calamari, fries, pizza-like thingy, nuggets, tempura, wedges and balls

Pork knuckles. Brotzeit (another resto) wins on the crispiness of the skin and tenderness of the pork. But this one wins by the flavour of the meat.

By the way, the plural of food is still 'food' if you are talking about food in general. If you are talking about more than one specific food, you should say 'foods'. Whatever.

Maya Hotcake

Hotcake mixture, water and egg.

I asked my mom to buy me a box of hotcake mix. Maya. My favorite brand.

On Feb16, I finally felt the urge to cook and binge.

I hate seeing a lot of holes! >=/. It grates my nerves

Bah, overcooked. But it's still good even without maple syrup.

A pile of pancakes, which I finished by myself. Except for one, which I left in the refrigerator. When I went back to get it a few hours later, it's almost as stiff as a frisbee.

My Frown Schedule

My frown schedule:

Mondays-Fridays: 8:30am-6:30pm

My smile Schedule:

Mondays-Fridays: during lunchbreak, after office

I know it sounds a wee bit negative, but above schedule seems to be quite accurate.

Somehow, as I stay longer in my job, it's becoming more and more intolerable.

The moment I go in, it's like there's a 'Death eater' (from Harry Potter) in the room that sucks my strength, happiness and sanity out. I sit on my chair, and I can immediately feel the tension on my neck and shoulders, like my muscles have twisted themselves into pretzels. Just this week, there's been 2 instances when I felt like bursting in tears (can't remember the reasons now).

Whiny whiny me. But I bet you'd do the same if you're handling 7 RMs (relationship managers) and 3 miscellaneous officers whom I have a love-hate relationship with.

Love-hate because sometimes they'd do something that makes me literally pull my hair and scratch my head until it's bleeding, but then they'd do something nice like give me food (this usually does the trick) or try to chat with me and then just like that I'd forget. Suddenly they'd have a clean slate again.

Sigh. I'm really weird. I hate it so much, yet I also love it. Don't ask me why, but that's just how I feel.

If You Are Like Me, You Would Love This

If you are like me, who always spills something just when you're wearing something light colored, then this stain removing wipe is for you.

We had our Chinese New Year dinner last night at Ice Cold Beer in Somerset. We had chicken wings, pizza, potato wedges, shrimp wanton with chili crab sauce and nachos with chili con carne dip. I was wearing dark blue cardigan over a cream straight-cut skirt (Disaster waiting to happen). I made it a point to be really careful while eating, but as expected, something from my pizza dropped to my skirt. Darn! I got it off and used my wipes to remove the stain. It seemed to be working.

However, when it dried out, it was still there. It was grease, one of the toughest stains! I was contented to leave it there, anyway I had the solution for that (drop some dish washing liquid on the stain, leave for a few minutes and wash off with a detergent). A few minutes later, something dropped on the same spot again! I wiped it off again, and this time with force. Surprisingly, it removed about 70% of the grease stain. Now it's barely noticeable, but I'd still use the dish washing liquid. I love my cream skirt, and won't allow the stain to ruin it.

I bought if from Isetan Supermarket, forgot how much it is, but I don't think it's too expensive.

Sad Story in Old Town

Organic Spirulina Orange Juice

Ipoh Hor Fun (doesn't look appetizing. But it's actually good)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I felt bad during lunch (my conscience was trying to be too goody-two-shoes). We ate at Old Town Coffee at Far East Plaza. It's newly opened and still in its very rocky phase, as in one waitress handling the whole area..

When you dine in, you are given a sheet of paper to tick on your orders. I ticked the dishes. I had the Ipohy chicken hor fun which was quite nice, my friend had the soft boiled egg and toast, and my colleague had the chicken rendang which looked yummy..

I also ticked on the drinks. To emphasize that it's for take out, I wrote 'Take Away' and put an arrow pointing from those 2 words to our order.

When the waitress read thru our orders, it was pretty clear that we only ordered 1 tea from that category.

In the middle of the meal, a staff approached and gave us 2 platic bags with 4 drinks. We told them it's not ours.
The person went off, but a few minutes later, the waitress went back to our table and said we ordered it. That there's a number '4' on one of the teas. Shit. It's my arrow. They thought it's the number 4!

Ofcourse I said it's an arrow and not the number '4', and that when she read our orders, she also only mentioned 1 tea.

I'm stuck in between. I knew that the waitress only counted 1 order of tea, but at the same time, since she's alone I suppose she wasn't able to clearly tell the food 'preparors' about the orders. So I felt like I needed to buy those drinks. But my practical side was shouting 'no', because I haven't withdrawn cash yet, and I was just carrying enough in my wallet to buy my lunch and some other miscellaneous things.

We finally paid our meal, and thank goodness the waitress didn't bring up about the drink issue (I was willing to pay half. better than going to waste right? they can't possibly sell it to other people). But after a few minutes, when we were about to leave, the supervisor approached us again and asked if we didn't order it.. so I just said we didn't and slowly walked away (but actually, I wanted to run!).

I probably won't go back there soon.

I Went Prawning

It's so hot, the coals have turned purple
Lucky fat cat. He'll be eating a lot of leftover prawn shells...(the girl in white was cooking a big batch of prawns. Probably 20+ sticks. I was green with envy...)

This was quite some weeks ago, when my friends and I went on an impromptu prawning trip after our dinner at Holland Village. We got there around 11pm, and finished around 230am.
It was obvious that the prawns don't like me, I didn't catch any prawns! sniff.
Since I'm not a patient person, plus I can't touch live prawns and worms (to use as bait), and I can't poke a live prawn with a barbeque stick (I'd rather put them away from water and watch them slowly say goodbye), I think this may not be the sport for me. Unless I always have somebody around to do all the above for me.
Although it's a nice experience, especially the barbeque part, when you start to smell the prawns. It was only cooked with salt, but it was one of the best prawns I've eaten. Yummy!

Yo

Cran&berries, Honey&MangoTango, MacadaMania
Apricots&AlmontsAllure, Nuts Inc., Glow With Goji
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tomorrow is the start of my second Yo, of Yo-yo diet. I've already had my first yo three weeks ago but it stopped because of the Chinese New Year.
So, this time around, I'm going to be very strict with myself.

To launch Yo2, I purchased some diet essentials today:

1. Gourmet Muesli > YoGood. I was supposed to buy Special K, but then saw this muesli in variety pack (box of six). So I thought, instead of hassling over the portion control, why not just buy these pre-boxed muesli. To save time, and save me the trouble.

2. Low fat milk in tetra paks > Again, the same principle. Portion control.

3. Alive yogurt > For breakfast, because this time I will finally listen to people and eat a proper breakfast and just have a very light dinner. I'm thinking, either salmon or soup only.

4. I also have a lot of round fruits from last week (from my Chinese New Year spread)

Ack! Thief in Our Neighborhood!

This is a spy shot from our living room at 4th floor.

********************************************************************************

As always, I was snooping around and checking the neighbouring condo thru our living room window when I saw a shopping cart parked outside the condo's main gate.

Ack! somebody took home the shopping cart, and it's probably from Cold Storage, United Square. This is grocery nearest to our place, about 6 minutes slow walk.

Well, in fairness to that person, he did 'pay' for the cart. Paid 1 dollar! (You insert a dollar coin into the coin slot to dislodge the cart from the other carts that it's attached to. Once you return it, you get your dollar back).

Fiesta Lechon

The sauces: toyo suka (soy sauce and vinegar), calamansi (lime) --> but this one tasted fake
*************************************************************************

Woohoo! There's a new Filipino stall in the Kopitiam at Velocity Mall.. but wait, I'll be on a diet (again!) starting tomorrow.. sniff! That means I can't eat there anymore, since most of their dishes come with rice.

Good thing I was still able to try it for lunch today.

I had their fried milkfish set (daing na bangus), which came with a bowl of nilagang baboy (pork and veggies soup) and a cup of rice. The soup was commendable because it was tasty and the pork was tender. Rice quality was okay. Fish was a bit too oily, you taste more of the oil than the fish. But in all, it's still okay.

They have a ten dollar buffet every Sunday. I didn't give in to the temptation because I know I'd just end up eating a lot. My meal cost six dollars... Imagine, just four more dollars, and it's eat all you can of adobong pusit (squid in soy sauce), menudo ( a pork dish), chopsuey (mixed veggies), ginataang something (something in coconut milk) and etc. but anyway, *clap clap* to me for resisting the urge.
