HK Day 4

Day 4. We were supposed to eat breakfast at Cafe de Coral, but decided to skip that and buy some food from Achi Ichiban (to bring back home to Singapore) instead. After buying some food, we saw another tourist holding a carrier bag from the famous bakers of good wife cake, so we decided to go in search of that.
We passed by a porridge place, so we went in and ate a bowl each of porridge and you tiao wrapped in rice thingy. Porridge was okay, but for me, the you tiao with the rice wrap was a bit weird. I prefer eating them separately.
The wife cake was located in Nathan road, the farthest part of Nathan Road.

We walked and walked and walked. But got confused with the numbering. One street shows the even street number, while the other side of the road shows the odd street numbers.
Good thing we got lost too, because we then saw a store selling mahjong tiles.

Ah. The mahjong shop. We went it because my friend needs to buy a set for her auntie.
Woohoo! Finally found the small bakery.

Bought myself a piece of warm wife cake. Mmmm yum. Chewy and sweet.

Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to dump our heavy purchases (Achi Ichiban purchases, Boxes of Wife cake and mahjong tiles ). Then, after resting for about 15 minutes, we went to Central in search for Yung Kee Restaurant.

Found Yung Kee and ordered: Roast goose , Scrambled egg white with crab meat, char siew rice and fried stuff squid with shrimp.

Char siew and the rice were okay. Some pieces were hard, but some where tender.

Ah, the famous goose. As before, it's okay.. taste was subtle and nice, quite tough to chew.. so all in all, nothing spectacular. Oh, maybe the only good thing about it was it didn't stink.

Looks good eh? But taste was mediocre. And it was oh so tough!

After the meal, we went to Beverly shopping centre (if I remember correctly)

Ate yogurt.. I ordered the Philippine mango yogurt.

Didn't buy anything... oh! I bought a can of Shiseido deodorant spray.

We went to Sogo to check out their grocery and tried the milk pudding from Milk Top. Tried the milk and the cheese. The best! Next time I go back to Hong Kong, I'm eating this again. We got to keep the cute bottle too.

We went back to Argyle centre afterwards to exchange some short we bought previously (turns out it was in Newton Mall and not Argyle). We finally had the chance to buy Gong Cha! We've been aiming to try it since Day 1, but that shop always shows up just when were already super full.
We went back to the hotel to dump everything we bought, but ack, by then my head was killing me and the medicated oil could not help me anymore. I remember that I already took medicine while at Yung Kee, but the throbbing kept bugging me.
So instead of the hotpot dinner that was planned for that night, we had to stay in the hotel. I felt real bad about it..Party pooper.

We went out to buy our dinner. I bought porkchops from Cafe de Coral, and my friend bought her stir fried noodles from the resto beside Cafe de Coral.

We went back to the hotel and watched 'Series of Unfortunate Events' while eating our dinner.
That's a goose leg. My friend ordered it as point of comparison against Yung Kee roast goose. This cheaper version is much more tender than Yung Kee's, but it stunk.
Gak, huge servings! I would've loved it if my head wasn't bugging me. But since I'm not in the mood to eat, it took me an hour to finish half of this tray. Sorry! I know I shouldn't be wasting food =(.
That was all for Day 4. Last night in HK, because we were already leaving the next day.
