Did You Know...

...That I used to be very scared of dentists, before I had my braces.
But when I had braces, I'm no longer scared, maybe just wary. Weird, but I usually feel sleepy when I'm seated on the patient's chair, and I could almost fall asleep while my mouth is wide open and the dentist is rummaging thru my teeth.
...That my arms are not straight, and if I stretch my arms, it forms a weird angle.

Rants and Raves

My rants and raves.

Rants:
1. I noticed that at work, people are becoming more pathetic. They have arms, but could not write. They have mouth, but could not speak. They have legs, but could not walk. I've just about used up all the profanity I know. If they want, I could break their arms, punch their mouth and paddle their legs so they'll have legitimate reason not to use them. (uh-huh, I'm really angry).

2. More and more bus drivers are becoming inconsiderate drivers. They keep stepping on the gas, stepping on the brakes (too sudden), and we have to hang on to to the seat handles for dear life. Like tonight, the possibility crossed my mind that I could just fly towards the front of the bus from the way the driver kept stepping on the brakes.

3. I hate to hear whistling and humming while I'm working. Oh, and I especially hate loud eating noises. Please don't stay within my earshot.

4. This just happened today. There's this girl who answered my call regarding debit card issuance.. I argued with her, and this is very rare instance for me, because I normally don't like confrontations. But it's because she was speaking in an overly condescending tone that I had to respond back harshly. Bu%*s&^t girl. I asked one question, she asked me back 3. She said 'I don't understand you.. blah blah blah'. Then I said 'That's what I'm asking you! I just needed to know if yes or no!'. You bitchy people, don't push me too hard, because I will definitely bitch you back.

Raves
1. I'm overwhelmed by the love and care from people whom I love and care back. They're such blessings that it really does make me wonder what I ever did to deserve them. I may seem aloof at times, but really, I feel everything inside.

2. I've had 4 birthday meals with friends and officemates, and there'll be two more this weekend. It's a very good feeling. So as always, diet is suspended, and will only resume on Monday.

3. Raves on food. I love the lemon lust bar from Cedele, the sticky dates dessert from Marmalade pantry and I've been craving for not-so- instant noodles (those that still needs boiling).

4. I love the Gongcha milk tea at United Square! Had it for 3 consecutive days last week. At their branch here in Singapore, they will ask you your preferred sugar level. Even with my love for sweet things, I can only take 80%. Dang, 100% is too much!

Night at the Museum

Audio thingy
The screen covers half of the circular room, and it's so cool because wherever you look, there's movements and activities.

Mmm laksa.. Right now, I'm liking Penang/assam laksa more than the coconut milk laksa here in Singapore.

This was at National Musuem, two Fridays ago.. Free entrance to all parts of the museum. Cool! There's so much more to Singapore's history... I thought it was just part of Malaysia before, then Malaysia didn't want it, then they strived, and Singapore became what it is now. Silly simpleton girl.

Lemon Lust

I'm not being green, it's just what this dessert bar is called.

I bought this at Cedele and wow! It's good!

I like tarty desserts, and this was just perfect. It's a bit sour (not overpowering), and the texture in the middle was springy and chewy.. Mmm.. I searched for it at another outlet, but they weren't selling it.

Date with Myself at TCC

I got the 1+3 promo. Buy 1 pasta dish, get a free drink and another main dish for free.Chose the prawn pasta and mushroom steak with cheese. Pasta was okay, but a bit spicy. The cheese was okay, but the mushroom becomes too much after the first two pieces..

I went to TCC last week (Tuesday), because I had to study something in preparation for a test. Before, I thought it's weird that people would study in a restaurant or coffeeshop.. But I realised now that there's something about the lighting in these public places that somehow makes you concentrate more.
I guess it works for me, because thank goodness I passed! Three cheers for me. Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!

I've Paid My Taxes..So I Now Have the Right to...

ask 'Why are there water puddles on the street!?' They must do something to straighten the road. It caused my sandals to become squishy because I had to submerge my feet into the puddles.

When I walked into the office at 925 this morning (office starts at 9am), each step made a 'squeak squeak' sound.

Darn, there seems to be no increase on my savings lately. After consecutive overseas trips, I thought I would finally be able to save this July.. then my notice of assessment arrived. Sigh.

Birthday Gifts!!!

Cute dress from myself
Another cute dress, also from myself

A nice summer dress with matching earrings from my friend

My Very Exciting Friday Night

I know, the picture is hazy. I have shaky hands, that's why.
Looks posh...

But they're quite inexpensive. SGD28 from Isetan.
It's under their 'Fashion Sunglasses' category, so I asked the dude if there's any UV. He said it has the standard UV400. According to him, it's always just UV400, even for the expensive ones.

Look at bear, he's so cute!
I actually don't like the side design, but I don't know.. I just felt like spending tonight.

Bought 2 books from borders. No So Secret Diary of a City Girl and Investing for bett zzzzzzz..... I'm a geek.

After work (about 830pm), I went to Borders at Wheelock to buy the books. Afterwards, I went to Ion to roam around, and the whole time, I was holding this silly looking long umbrella. How cool.

OMG

My mum's cute gifts. Longchamp (wanna be) pouchy, gem bracelets and the ruby ring

My Cambodia-purchased Ruby!

My mom customised a white gold (or silver) ring for me, with the Ruby gem as the center piece.

At first glance, I thought my mom bought a fancy ring for me, as a birthday gift and because she knows I like ruby because it's my birthstone.. But when I looked closely, I recognised the gem because I personally chose it somewhere before the Angkor Night Market.

Awww my cute and thoughful mom. She had it made in time for my birthday, and asked my friend who's vacationing here to bring it over. The ring is a perfect fit too! I love it!

Birthday Meal, Part 3

The Marmalade Pantry at ION Orchard

Cupcake section
Warm spinach with pine nuts, mozzarella cheese, and poached egg on top. I like!
Poke, poke.. to let the yolk ooze out
Beef cheek guiness pie with cerelaic puree. Hmm.. I didn't really appreciate this dish. The puree tasted a bit like processed canned food.
Crab linguini.. quite nice, with lots of crab meat shreds on top.
Weird looking heavy spoon and fork for... dessert!
Sea salt caramel cheesecake. Couldn't really taste the sea salt factor, but it was still very good
Sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream, my flatmate's favorite. It's very nice, the warmness of the pudding, sweetness of the caramel syrup, and comforting vanilla ice cream.

My flatmates treated me to a birthday lunch today. At about 1230 today, we (three of us) stepped out of the condo and got into a cab to go to ION Orchard.

I had a lovely time, chatting and eating and eating and chatting.

My birthday this year is truly memorable.
