You Lovely Thing, You

Stella McCartney shoes. So cute! But it's also expensive =/. I think about SGD160+

Sentimental Fool

At Au Pe Tit Salut, they automatically asked us "Would you like to have still or sparkling water?". Still! (sparkling would be doubly expensive). This medium bottle was already SGD7.

Washed my proposal dress

It wasn't really wrinkled, but I was so OC. I wanted it to be perfectly crisp.. so this was what happened. I burnt a huge hole instead! Sniff and SOB!

It's not a very pretty dress (but I felt it was when I tried it on at Landmark, Trinoma). Under a different circumstance, I would'nt have cared so much. But this dress means so much! Sigh.

The garment has become plastic-like after I've managed to unstick it from the 'non-stick' iron. Sob.

I was so thirsty the other day after my Zumba class. When I got to the water section, my eyes naturally went to Fiji because it brought back memories. I just bought the baby-size bottle though.

No More Leaking. Yey!

My sticky note for the aircon guy.

My aircon has been leaking for a few nights already. Maybe because of the humidity, or probably because of some choked tube. Whatever.

It's fixed. No more red light (which means the filters are clean again). And last night, it wasn't leaking anymore. Yey!

Cleaning is SGD25 per aircon unit.

I Need Space!

Pink shoes for my Zumba classes. Zuuuumbaaaa!

Hee!

My gray semi flats. Charles & Keith black sandals, Brown/Black Grendha flats for walking and Pazzion platform slingbacks.

I love this! First it's got platform, and second, the design on the heel and platform is so oriental and pretty!

Looks plain from this angle.

It's atleast 3.5 inches.

Birthday and Engagement Treat

Mushrooms Salted egg crab. Mmm!

Wasabi prawn. Good.

Melben's Crab beehoon.

All these for 3 ladies. We did have a bag of takeaway - some crab claws and beehoon soup.

Afterwards, we celebrated my status change by eating desserts at Canele.

As usual, dessert was just so-so. I don't think I'll ever suggest going back there to eat desserts. It's just not worth it.

I wanted the strawberry shortcake, but it was sold out.

My friend's ice cream. With merengue sticks.

Tea to wash away all the oil and sweets.

stressed=desserts .... so? (note: it's now 2:50am, probably why I'm getting cranky)

The overly chocolatey chocolate cake. And I'm not saying that as a compliment.

My friend ordered this before, and I ordered it again by mistake. I thought she ordered the other one. When the waiter served this, we were like 'it's the same.'

Macarons. I never liked their macarons. It's overly overly sweet.

Malacca Trip - 4Aug2011

Breakfast at McDonald's, Orchard Centerpoint

Was trying to take a picture of the tour guide without her noticing. So in the end, I was just able to take a picture where you won't notice the tourguide.

She was super funny, and her accent was great!

She said something like 'you are not allowed to bring in chewing gum into Singapore, so before you leave Malaysia, chew as much gum as you like, until your jaws lock.' Or something to that effect.

Hotel Equitorial. Nice hotel. I stayed here before with my friend, and I went back because I was satisfied. I'd still recommend it to other Malacca visitors.

Was trying to take a picture of the cat.

The thing on top is actually my finger. I was afraid I'd drop my phone so I held on to it tightly.

Meow.

Nancy's kitchen. The peranakan resto that we weren't able to try before because of the queue. This time there weren't any queue though- because we went there on a Thursday.

Before the trip, I was excited to Peranakan food! But the moment I sat down, the craving seems to have disappeared.

There were quite a handful of angmoh's eating there. Probably read it on a travel guide book.

Popiah. I don't really like popiah. So I couldn't really comment.

It's not bad, but I can't say it's good either.

Ngo hiang behind. It was okay.

Chicken buah kuelak. Too watery and the spices didn't penetrate into the meat.

Pork. With tofu, egg and whatever. I shouldn't have ordered this.

Some more sightseeing. Of whatever we could sight.

Kaizer . Ugh. Another big mistake. Super big mistake.

It was quite late, so we were looking for a place to eat dinner.

Pretty quiet everywhere, so I thought a safer place to eat would be at a fastfood.

I ordered the spicy chicken. The boyfriend ordered burger. Burger seemed raw and eeew. He took a couple of bites and couldn't take it. I don't believe in wasting food, but this was an exception.

My chicken was okay. I mean, it was just chicken, which was either grilled or boiled.

Then a mildy spicy sauce was poured over it. The yucky part was, the sauce was cold. Not just at room temperature, but a bit colder.

To make up for the disappointing dinner, we decided to buy milk tea.

My pudding and his macha . Atleast these tasted normal, although not spectacular (not their fault though.)

Lunch next day was at Famosa chicken . The more popular one was just on another corner, but this was less crowded. Rather, there's no crowd at all, and we just wanted to be able to sit and eat.

Nice to look at, lovely to hold. But that's just about it.

I'd choose Singapore chicken any time of day. Whether white, soy or roasted.

Durian chendol. We're all the way in Malacca, might as well eat this. Anyway, I remember liking it the first time I tried it.

It's still the same as before, so atleast that's good.

Finally we were back in Singapore soil by 7pm of 5Aug2011.

I just bought some pineapple tarts, wasabi peas, soy nuts, and 4 shirts. One of my favorites is the one above. Cute drawings of food! Plus it's so soft!

I super enjoyed my first Malacca visit, but the second time was a bit boring. Everything was still the same, even after a year. Some shirt designs sold last year were still on their racks.
