How I Spent My Saturday

Maggi mee with egg... I missed this...
A big drop of blood and my injured middle finger.

5 deep cuts and my shriveled skin (caused by the plaster)
***********************************************************
I woke up before 10am still feeling flu-ish. Worse that what I've been feeling for the past week.
So I decided to cook myself a pot of porridge so that I could eat my bioflu medicine.
I did just that and thought I would feel better.
At around 330pm, I made an appointment with my friend to meet at the new Serangoon mall, but at 4pm, I was feeling weak.
In the end, I had to skip the whole mall-hopping thing and just force myself to sleep. It was difficult to fall asleep though, because of my scratchy throat.
Now at 12:54am, I'm feeling a bit better.. but just about 65% recovered.
**********
I washed my aircon's filter today because the red light on my unit was on, meaning it's dirty already. After putting back the cleaned filter, the red light was still one. So I tried to wipe off the dust on the unit itself.
I saw some dust on the grid thingy and tried to wipe off the dust with a downward stroke but my finger got cut by the metal which was pointing upwards. I shrieked and rushed to the toilet and put my finger under the running water. For about 3 solid minutes of pinching and pressing my finger, the blood kept oozing out. I was scared.. but thankfully, it eventually stopped.
I'm not usually afraid of blood, it's just that 3 minutes of blood dripping was just too long.
Anyway, that was my Saturday. I'm off to bed now, and looking forward to wake up to a great Sunday! (before it becomes Monday again... groan)

Food

Spicy tuna ciabatta sandwich at Romulus, Vivo City
Original pretzel with cheddar cheese dip. I think just go to Auntie Anne's.

Huuuuuge pizza from Peperoni Pizzeria at Greenwood Avenue, Hillcrest Park (Bukit Timah area)

Really huuuuuge! and so many flavours.. not just your regular hawaiian, supreme, meatlovers...

Bentendo Japanese Pasta & Cafe at Great World Mall. (Similar concept as Pasta de Waraku)

Hamburger pizza.. yum.
Salmon with salmon roe pasta in soy sauce. Quite yummy actually, and the roe was really crunchy and liquidy inside. Too bad I don't like smoked salmon. I mean I like salmon, but it has to be cooked.
Had lunch at this place before watching Harry Potter, for free! Thanks to our sponsor for sharing the tickets and its inclusive popcorn and drinks with us.
I'm just so happy to see that there's a big movie theater in Singapore.. not like the usual theater size in the other GV or Cineleisure cinemas.
Vanilla frosty.

Eggy rice at ION.. The resto near Burger King. The one you see when you get up from the escalator.
I love their eggy rice!
Jia Xiang Mien.

Noodle place at United Square

The suggested sauce combination.

Beef ball soup. Actually, it's not so bad.. it's just that it's too oily, and just when I'm supposedly on a diet.

Huh?

My Reuters screen.

There was a time when I would just stare at the screen not knowing how to interpret whatever I'm seeing...and then once I have my interpretation, I didn't know if I was interpreting it correctly.

Aaaaah.. imagine my frustration then.

Sometimes We Just Wait Too Long

Sometimes, we hold on to something, waiting for the right time.. only to realise in the end that it's already too late...
...such as my Watson's 5 dollar voucher! I was thinking of what to buy, and when to buy.. when I checked the receipt, it's already a day expired! I could've bought 2 bottles of body wash and my Darlie toothpaste using that 5 dollars!

Paradise Dynasty. Take Two.

Boiled pork with cucumber. Nice.
Fried rice. Okay.

Dumpling. Skippable.

Dumpling. Okay, I guess.

Eggwhites with crab meat. A bit too watery. If they can remedy that, then it would be a good dish.

Pork. Some portions were really tender.
**********************************************************
My second time to eat at Paradise Dynasty.
First time was a disaster.. all the food we ordered were not nice and we waited for sooo long.. But this time, it was a better exprience.
Would I recommend you to go? Well.. go after you've eaten at Din Tai Fung, Taste Paradise, Imperial Treasure, Tung Lok Restos, East Ocean and Crystal Jade.

I Have This Condition...

That's blood.

******************************
This is my abnormal condition.. When I'm stressed, I scratch my head.

When you see me scratching my head, it's not because it's itchy, it's because I'm distracted, thoughtful or stressed.

Sometimes I scratch without realising that I'm already bleeding.

So Much Nicer This Year

The Christmas decoration along Orchard is so much nicer this year than last.
My camera couldn't capture its beauty, but it's definitely classier.

I Regret Eating...

Banana split from Dairy Queen.

Friends from Manila visited Singapore, so we ate at Dairy Queen (Outside Wheelock Place) last Saturday night (about 1120 till past midnight).

There were 3 big scoops of vanilla ice cream (1.5 of it melted even before I finished the first 1.5 scoops). Then, I didn't eat the whipped cream. I hate those canned whipped cream. It's very trans-fatty. Eew.

Time In, Time Out

Time in, 9:04am.

Time out, 6:14pm. Woohoo!

Once Upon a Time...

It was Friday, around 1pm, when little miss banker (LMB) ventured to Plaza Singapura to have her lunch. There, she went straight to Saybons to savour her favourite crepe of ham, cheese and egg, together with broccoli cheddar soup.

As she still has a slight sore throat, she opted to get the banana as the third instalment to the set meal (instead of iced tea..mmm)
She waited about 7 minutes...

Before the lovely crepe arrived.

However, the egg yolk was no longer runny. Darn it. LMB likes it runny.
After eating, LMB dragged herself back to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. She arrived in the office about 10 minutes past 2pm, and she stayed there till 614pm.

Stubborn Girl

Sad sad sad. and irritated.

*******************************************************************
So there I was, at Vivo City, on a Friday night.

I was there to look for an earring holder for my friend. I ended up buying a pair of shoes for myself. In the wrong size.

I was walking towards Harbour Front mall when I saw the big poster with '18 dollars!' on it. Wow, 18 dollars for a pair of URS shoes. I need black shoes.

I went in, and saw two pairs I liked. The other one was a size too big, and since it was just so-so, I let it go.

But there was another pair, Elle pumps (which were being sold inside that URS store) , that I really wanted!

They only had size 36 and 38, and I'm a consistent size 37. Stubborn girl that I am, I still insisted on buying. I planned to just buy those heel stickies to tighten up the shoes.

I went to Watson's afterwards to buy 3 pairs of stickies and went to the toilet to try it on. I have low eq, I couldn't wait until I get home.

Aaaaargh! It's still too loose.

Now I have no choice but to sell off the shoes, or give it away. I just don't want to see them anymore.

Sniff. I liked that pair...

TLC

Still feeling a bit under the weather on Thursday, so I cooked myself a pot (small pot) of porridge.

Bought a can of spiced pork from Cold Storage
Scrambled eggs (2 eggwhites and 1 egg yolk), spiced pork, and pork floss

Chadah! Taiwan-style porridge.
TLC from me to me. ^-^

Thanks me! You're welcome me!

Sick

I'm getting sicker by the day.. my neck has been really stiff since last week, but I thought it's because of my monthly visitor. But the visitor has gone, and my neck is still painful.

My throat has been very dry and scratchy since yesterday, my bones are aching, and I get cold easily.. especially when I pass thru that freakingly cold stretch before One Raffles Quay.

My hands are quivering too, and sometimes I feel my heart is not beating as fast as it should.

I really wanted to eat porridge tonight, but the thought of cooking a pot for about 20 minutes just didn't sit well with me so I bought Campbell's light pasta and vegetable soup instead (which is supposedly msg free).

How I miss my mom's caring presence!

PS.. Nope, I won't be going on sick leave. I never do.. and I don't know why I can't bring myself to take leave. Sigh. This guilty feeling. I'm always guilty, always afraid to make other people's lives harder. Darn it.

I Love Eggs

Monday dinner: Fried eggs! Yummy!
It's two eggwhites and one eggyolk.

Special square design.
Seems like I couldn't cook proper fried egg? Nope. I deliberately poked the eggyolk.
When I was younger, I liked it sunny side up and runny.. but nowadays, I want the eggyolk to be 90% cooked such that halfway thru the cooking process, that's when I poke the yolk and let it ooze out. Then, I flip the egg over, let it cook for a few seconds and then turn the fire off.

With catsup! Mmmm... simple joys of life for me.

Another shot. Mmm...

Big O

Last Sunday's dinner with my dear friend
Big O at Paragon

I find this amusing. Look at the face!

Their 'recommended' icon is so cute. It's the mini version of the chef above.

Hee hee

Ah... I forgot to rotate the picture. Anyway, too late to do that now.. too lazy to redo.

Mozzarella stick. It's too hard, as in if you press it with a fork wrongly and slice it using a knife, it might just shoot out and hit somebody's head.

I miss the mozzarella stick in Manila, forgot where, but I know Manila offers better mozzarella sticks.

My bacon-wrapped chicken. It's okay, chicken in barbeque sauce.

and there's a lot of pieces too.
