Go Awaaaaaay!

Eh, how come this picture is in such a cute size? Anyway, I left the bag hanging there the whole day yesterday. It still smells, but probably just 96% compared to the original smell.

Bought some activated charcoal.

I used it on my bag first, for just about 3 hours. Anyway, my own bag doesn't stink.

Now, the activated charcoals are in the stinky bag along with the box of baking soda and some crumpled paper.

It will remain incubated in the enclosed paperbag until Tuesday, and then I will open it up and see how it goes.

I've stuck my nose in the hole now, and it's not stinking as bad. Please please stench just go away!

Worst Sports Host Ever

I watched the live coverage of F1 qualifying race on TV last night .

Now the host, I don't know what his name is, was super terrible. He dragged his word as if buying time while having difficulty reading the dummy board/screen/script. His face was emotionless too. Ugh.

I'm watching again tonight, no improvement. It wasn't a slip last night. He's just terrible. It's as if I'm watching an election coverage.

My Chicken and Veggie Soup for the Soul

My heartiest soup creation yet- chicken (shredded after being boiled for atleast 40 mins) and veggies: carrot, potato, yellow onion, cucumber, beans, barley and lentils.

Tonkatsu by Ma Maison

Hallo there porky!

Tonkatsu by Ma Maison at Mandarin Gallery.

Was torn between Tonkichi (tried and tested) and Ma Maison (tried their other dishes, but not their tonkatsu).

Mandarin Gallery was nearer, so we went to Ma Maison.

Got pissed by a bunch of girls who wouldn't give way for me to exit the queue lane. Stupid girls, ruined my night they did.
I chose the black pork loin.

It came with the grated radish.

Spot the difference: Photo 1

Photo 2

The meat was okay, but it wasn't as tender and as flavourful as that of Tonkatsu.

It's the same price as Tonkichi. Since this is the case, I choose Tonkichi. 100%

My brother was satisfied with his tonkatsu though, so that was good enough for me.

The only good thing about Ma Maison is you get unlimited refill of rice, soup and cabbage. Woo-hoo!

Complimentary jello.
Tasteless but refreshing.

My Groupon Misadventures

At Arab Lane .
Groupon: SGD20 for SGD40 worth of food.
Decided to eat here before going to the National Library for the Hossan Leong show.

For appetiser, we got the calamari plate and added sauteed prawns
Nothing to shout about. I mean, it's not bad, but since I could also cook a decent calamari, I just felt that they should've done better than me.

My brother's pasta. Probably not fantastic, because he didn't comment.

My pork burger. Super big! (but in this cake, size didn't matter)

I'm drawn by the egg, because I love eggs.

That's just about it.

Cheese.

How can my relatively small mouth be able to bite down a towering burger?
I can't remember how I did it, but I was able to.

The pattie itself was tasteless. Then, I couldn't taste the balsamic dressing at all.

C'mon! I was irritated because fast food joints can whip up better burgers than them. By tenfolds.

Ugh.

The concept is okay - their noodles are served in chinese take-out boxes.

The Green Stuff drink - tasted like green mangoes with sour plum. Not bad, I guess.

It's just SGD5 for two boxes (like buy 1 take 1)

I topped-up 1.80 to get the char-siu ramen.

I suppose it's not bad, but somehow I felt grossed out after eating it.

Perhaps it's the fish cake, or the yucky ultra red and stiff sausage. It ruined the dish completely.

It tasted fake and so synthetic.

Of course I was convinced to get the set meal. Which came with the green drink and salmon skin and soup for additional SGD3.

So all in all, I still shelled out SGD4.80 on top of the groupon amount of SGD5.

I like salmon skin, but I only ate half of this. It tasted old.
Soup was good though.

Cute! I Like and I Want!

Look at the girl's LV. I've seen the bigger version, but this is the first time I've seen a miniature one. So cute! It's probably useless

A Vespa bag. I love Vespa!

I want this! An LV pochette Illustre. GBP190

Hmm I think I prefer the Damier version

Mad for Garlic

Wasn't able to make a reservation for a Friday night dinner, so had to queue for about 45mins.

I'm not mad for garlic, but I'm okay to eat garlic especially since I've read some good reviews about it, and some of my friends have already tried it and didn't have negative comments about the resto.

We had the garlic tower for starters. The waiter would actually slice and dice it up.

The collapsed tower.

And loads of garlic. Which, surprisingly wasn't offensive, given the amount.

Beef with cheese and garlic. Medium well.

I love cheese!
Cheese!

More cheese!

What's this? Cheese grating in action!

Bloody *e$% (beef!) . Definitely not medium well. Probably medium rare. Or, just fried outside, raw inside.

Normally, I don't eat raw but this wasn't so bad, more so with the loads of cheese.

That's my rolled pizza with the arragula and chili.

The food behind was the risotto. I love risotto, but I wasn't taken by their take on risotto.

Something like Yellow Cab's 'Dear Darla'. I liked it.

SGD100 for 3 pax.

Would I go back? Probably, but not so soon.
