Tips for a nice Vietnam-Cambodia trip

If you want to really experience exploring Vietnam and Cambodia and taking things as they come, then don't read this entry.
On the other hand, if you want a more meaningful trip, then read on..
Vietnam:
Tip 1: Workout a bit before the trip to ready yourself for Cu Chi Tunnel
Tip 2: Read about the Vietnam War so that you will understand the pictures when you go to the War Museum

Phnom Penh
Tip 1: Read about Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot so that you won't be so lost (like me).
Siem Reap
Tip 1: Read about Angkor Wat and Shiva and Vishnu
Tip 2: Watch Tomb Raider so that you'll appreciate visiting the temples where a scene from the movie was shot (picture above)
General Tips
Tip 1: Put on a lot of sunblock
Tip 2: Wear comfortable and non-slip slippers or shoes. Remember that it can get muddy so don't wear non-washable shoes. Plus, the steps inside the stone temples are very steep, be very careful.
Tip 3: Don't forget your shades
Tip 4: Bring a nice bag ( I brought a regular shoulder bag which was super hassle)
Tip 5: Bring umbrella
Tip 6: Bring a shopping bag so that you won't end up with a lot of plastic bags from all your purchases
Tip 7: Don't splurge too much on the first few days, you'll see a lot of cooler stuff as the days progress.
