Plate was not so impressive
SGD57 nett price
Drunken chicken. Crisp wasabi prawn
Fresh prawns with mild wasabi sauce, mango and roe (This was nice)
Char siew pao, shark's fin dumpling, har gaw
Crispy squid. Yum.
Gyoza. Erm.. on to the next dim sum
Netted crispy prawn. It was just okay, the prawns were big and fresh, but nothing spectacular.
Fish broth with fish maw. It was quite nice, and the best among the 3 soups we ordered: Hot and sour soup (too starchy), dumpling soup (too ordinary).
Close-up of the netter crispy prawn.
Shark's fin dumpling. Looks good.. but I really couldn't remember how it tasted. So it only means it's ordinary.
Spinach dumpling (their har gaw)
Prawn salad
Fried potato dumpling with crab and cheese
Quite okay. My friends, Ms. Gorgeous(self-given name)/greedy and forgetful (we gave her these names) and Ms. Bottomless Pit (Ms. Gorgeous gave this name to our other friend), liked this potato dumplings.
Overall verdict: Just so-so. If you have spare cash, you can try this place. If not, go somewhere else to get better food.
The service was good because the wait staff were attentive. The taste however, was pretty mediocre, considering the price. I believe they did use the best quality ingredients (at least the prawns), but the taste was just lacking that special quality.
I still prefer the dim sum at Taste Paradise. Exciting, different and satisfying.
