Tai-tai for One Afternoon

High Tea at Arteastique, Mandarin Gallery - 9Oct2011 with E.N.

The view facing Ngee Ann City. The view: nothing.

Nice fancy chairs! Like in the tea room of a Duchess..

SGD48 ++ = SGD56 nett

The set comes with wrap, and you get to choose the filling. We chose beef!
It also comes with sliced cake - either orange or apple. We chose Orange.

Smoked salmon, salad, ham, and choice of drink (excluding those with alcoholic content)

Their apple and orange cake

Waiting for our order.. Took awhile.. It wasn't so 'high tea' anymore when it arrived.

My 'Last Eunuch' dessert tea - pear gelato on top of iced tea.

It came with a refill of tea, sugar syrup, and a flat mochi.

Dizzying angle. Can't remember why I took this shot.

Gold spoon!

Lovely to look at, nice to hold, but taste-wise, it's just so-so.

Darn elbow! Ruined this shot.

My friend's pomelo and yuzu tea.

Smoked salmon. I don't like smoked food.

Salad on top of a ... something.

This must be the life of a tai-tai.. to sip tea and nibble on light snacks while chatting about what kind of watch to buy and which bags to invest on.

Verdict: So-so. The decor was okay, but the chair and couch were uncomfortable. I probably won't go back unless I have that urge to pretend I'm classy.
