Food Reviews

At Demsey for lunch last Saturday - 1Oct0211

Refreshing salad. Good start.

My lightly grilled sushi platter. Quite nice, considering I don't eat half raw or smoked stuff, I was able to gobble it all down.

Perhaps the only thing I didn't like was the egg block. Normally I love eggs, but there's just something about this one .. maybe it's too solid.

My friend's bento - suuuper huge!
Ah, the pork belly was sooooo good! The beef was good too, except there's a pinkish part (and I'm biased when it comes to raw food).

My fried stuff. Prawn and veggies.
Too oily for me so I didn't appreciate it. Or, maybe I was already too full then.

Grilled sweet potatoes. Very nice.

My friend gave me her tempura

Sesame ice cream. I don't like this flavour much, but I have a feeling I'm starting to acquire the taste for it.

It's SGD 90 for 2 pax. Expensive, but good enough for a once-in-a-while treat.

My boss brought us some squid rings!

It's not as good as the ones from Cebu or Bacolod (I think), but it's still okay! Finished it in 2 days.

Apple crumble and Apple Blueberry something something pie from Cedele.

Cedele always delivers when it comes to their pastries.

Mixed fish soup meesua with milk at Raffles City food court. My after-kickboxing dinner. I like it. Satisfying meal.

After Zumba dinner of wonton mee at Ion Food Hall. SGD4 for this large bowl.
So-so. Probably wouldn't eat it again, because there's so many others to choose from. No point settling down for mediocre food.

Friday quick dinner with friends at Popeye's ION (7Oct2011).

5 pcs chicken tenders, biscuit, coleslaw and iced tea (SGD8.70). Love the coleslaw. It's creamy and has that refreshing mango taste.

Chicken was okay - tasted like regular chicken tenders.

Bah, junk food =/

Mapo tofu ramen at Far East Plaza. Somewhere in the basement.

So so.

Hippopotamus at Marina Square.

Dinner with my friend last Friday, 30Sep2011.
Saw some okay reviews about it and decided to try.

Free bread and chips.

Squid. Very tender and first few bites were good, but then it became too much (too fried) - that finishing it became a chore.

My lamb chops. First few bites were okay, until the grease clouded over and became lardy.

Potato gratin was good, the saving grace for this dish.

The veggie was yucky, super overcooked.

The ratatouille was okay but not remarkable.

My friend's steak was even worse. Tasted bitter. She said it tasted like wood.

Each person shelled out SGD25 ( or more, I can't remember)

I won't recommend this place. If you want a nice piece of steak, it's more advisable to go to Figos Grail.

Gelato at iL Gelato di Bruno at Citylink Mall.

They have a promo. Buy 1 get 1, if I remember correctly.

The display cabinet was too high. I might as well not have spoken because the gelato lady didn't hear a single word I said.

Forgot what I had. I just remember that it's tooooo sweet.

Won't go back unless I need to sugar shock myself.

It's now 1:56am, I'm super sleepy.. probably the reason why I'm giving mostly bad reviews.
