So, they're trying to 'beautify' Sentosa.. I doubt I'd be enticed to go back anytime soon..
The ship from Madagascar

March 23,2010.
One full weekday to spend in Singapore ( I was still on my blessed leave. Away from the craziness of the office). I've had enough of Singapore Zoo and Sentosa, so the perfect place to go to was Universal Studios at Resort World! It just officially 'opened softly' on March 18, so we just gotta go there and check it out (so that we can brag about it later).
Ticket was SGD66/person, inclusive of a SGD10 meal voucher and SDG5 merchandise voucher. It's worth it! The place is just amazing and very dreamy (especially for a girl like me, who's never been to other Universal Studios). I don't know if I'd feel the same in Disneyland, but I'm really more of a 'Shrek/Madagascar' girl than a 'Mickey/Disney Princess' girl.
The first ride, which was Madagascar-inspired, wasn't open yet (too bad). So we could only take pictures. So we walked and entered into Shrek's world. Rode this very basic roller coaster, which still left me shaky (I haven't done anything that heart racing since my G-max and wakeboarding stint. Ha! you wouldn't have thought I've experienced those things, huh?).
Then, we queued up for the Shrek 4D, which was fun and had us laughing as we marched out of the theater.
Next was the Jurassic park. There's this ride that's for kids, where you just sit there, feet dangling and you go round (not a roller coaster), but basically you just skid thru a big circle (still quite scary for me, i'm afraid of heights). It was also fun, and was over in less than a minute.
After that, we queued a loooong time for the Jurassic park boat ride, which was super fun especially when the dude in front of me got drenched so bad. The ride was so bumpy, that the bottled water neatly tucked in my seatmates bag jumped out and was on my feet by the end of the ride, and all throughout his face was stony. He's about fifty-ish, I think. And his family probably just dragged him along. I was laughing as we walked away.
On our way to the Mummy, one guy was shouting that the last Waterworld show for the day would be starting in 5 minutes. Very well, might as well watch it.
I've never watched Water World (the movie), but I don't think it mattered. It was just a show filled with stunts and effects and actual explosion. I actually felt the heat of the explosion on my face.
After the Water World show, we rushed back to ride the revenge of the mummy. We were rushing by now (I guess subconsciously, we wanted to get to the dueling rollercoasters quick). The revenge of the mummy indoor roller coaster was super cool! The only regret I had was not buying the photos they took of us. I could still vividly see the picture in my mind. Awww it's one of the most raw and cute and natural picture of us. Looking at our left (forgot why) and shouting our tonsils out.
Next stop, we took the treasure ride, where you just sit on a cool-looking carriage and it takes you on a tour showing various treasure finds. It's one of the suckiest rides ever! Even a kid wouldn't be amused. We stopped for about a minute in the middle of nowhere, and we were thinking that maybe it would suddenly speed up and give us a thrilling ride, but next thing we saw was the starting point of the ride. Boooooo!
We left that area really disappointed, but moved on to the next ride. The battlestar galactica duelling roller coaster!!! I wanted to chicken out, but at the same time I wanted to try it (bragging rights again). Next thing I knew, we were depositing my bag in the locker and we were heading to the first ride. The 'human' side of the rollercoaster. It's the seated version. There wasn't any queue, so we were next. Once seated and belt tightened, there was no time to think as it launched at full speed and before I knew it, we were going downwards! downwards really faaaaaast! Then going sideways really fast, then I don't know what's happening anymore. Then, it ended and we were approaching the 'landing' area and people were clapping (they should, it's a crazy ride!).
One down, but it wouldn't be complete if we didn't try the 'Cyclon' side of the roller coaster. We jogged towards the other side and got belted again. This time, we were seated but our legs were dangling. Off we went again, round and round, shout after shout. I don't normally shout, but I shouted so much that towards the end, my shouts were so low pitched already, just like how a guy would shout.
When we got off, I did the wrong thing, I took a gulp of water. About 10 minutes later, I felt like puking. My intestines probably flipped and the water was finding it difficult to go down. Good thing I brought my Axe menthol oil. Some 'sniff sniff', and a few minutes after, my stomach was back to normal and I wolfed down the yummy turkey bacon sandwich from Hollywood Cafe.

Sigh, the day had to end.. but before finally saying goodbye, we stopped at the souvenir shop to use the SGD5 merchandise voucher. I bought what people would usually buy, a useless keychain! It says Universal Studios Singapore (the globe-shaped one) and below it dangled a star with a ruby in the center and the word 'July' (my birth month).
Finally, we stepped out of the dream-like world and walked into another world - Hershey's chocolate world! Woohoo!
