ROM Part 2
The place mat also serves as the restaurant map. There's a section for korean, grilled meats, seafood, asian food etc.
First round: Bibimbap! Oh this was yummy! I just can't get past my korean-food addiction.
Only problem was, it was such a huge portion which quickly filled 1/2 of my tummy.
Second round: grilled ribs (yum!), Salmon, and breaded fish with tartar sauce (both so-so)
Crabs , korean pancake, and miscellaneous stuff.
Dessert: Macaron (epic fail!). Eeeeyuk. They should remove this from their spread.
Honeydew and melon. Soft-serve ice crea (not shown in the picture). Ice cream was good.
I ate so much that night.
I have no doubts I would eat as much on my wedding day (well, my other wedding on July, that is).
ROM Part 1
Shangri-la Orange Grove, Singapore
Valley Wing, Suite1060
A few days before we checked-in, I emailed Shangri la and told them that it's a special day because it's our ROM, and so they prepared a Happy Anniversary cake for us.
I was pleased still.
Lotsa fruits.
Not the usual Loccitane products.. instead it's Bvlgari bath items.
But... I still prefer Loccitane...
The Shang welcome gift - yellow orchids
Nespresso machine and a box of capsules (not shown in the picture)
Cookies and chocolates!
Dress from Stradivarius
Shoes from Pazzion
The groom's attire.
Lovely bouquet which my friend bought. I couldn't have chosen a better one.
A nice surprise was waiting for us when we got back late in the evening.
A very big arrangement of red and white roses.
Chocolate on our bedside table, with a hint of liquor in it.
The butler gave this to me.
Hand creme, lip balm, refreshing wipes, headband and.... old school panty hose?

Our ROM (registry of marriage) took place at Shangri-la, at 5pm in the afternoon of June 9,2012. The union was solemnized by Ms Soh.

HY California - Review
I've heard okay reviews about HY California, so when my friend and I decided to meet, we chose this place.
It's the casual, more reasonably priced restaurant of Hidemasa Yamamoto.
Not much choices, but whateve was in the menu looked interesting enough.
We decided on prawn salad. (so-so)
Fried veggies (so-so)
Roll with foie gras (so-so)
Mixed rolls (so-so)
The rolls were crumbly..so for me it's like, er, your resto sells mostly rolls, so how come it's still so crumbly? Shouldn't they have atleast perfected that part?
So based on the above, you've probably guessed my verdict. It's a so-so restaurant. Plus, it's still pricey.
For 2 pax, I think our bill was SGD120++.
I'm lucky my friend treated me =) [farewell dinner as I'm leaving Singapore soon]
So for the price, and the taste, I'd say go to Ichiban Boshi instead.. well that's unless you want to feel 'attas' (high class).
