I'm writing down the recipe for our home brewed lemon iced tea. Since I'm going to increase the yield, the sugar needs to be increased. Instead of just 3/4 cup, the recipe now calls for 3 times the original amount.
I've forgotten how to multiply fractions! So i just computed it the long way.. tsk tsk.. all the math lessons.... forgotten...
I did eventually google how to compute it (after I'm done with the manual computation), so now I know how..
